Well...
Am now back up to almost 4500 songs on my iPod. Yes, there are more important things to focus on to be sure, but I am glad to have a bit more to listen to on my player.

Have discovered MediaMonkey (if I'd not mentioned it before) and YamiPod as well. With the combination of those and iTunes, I think I'll be set, though I'll have to exercise a bit more caution in the future. MediaMonkey Lite is a nice music manager and I believe the limited time use LAME encoder can be replaced with a free LAME encoder. I've not tried ripping using MediaMonkey, so I'm not 100% about that. YamiPod I used mostly for its find duplicates feature. Yes, I am aware that iTunes has a find duplicates option as well, however, it only scans one's iTunes library and not what's on the iPod itself. An annoying inconvenience mostly, but then with YamiPod it wasn't so bad. Amazingly enough, I only had four duplicate songs according to the scan I ran last night. Next thing will be fully syncing with my MP3 library from my desktop at home. I've grabbed quite a few songs, but until I could be sure that I could get rid of duplicate songs, I didn't want to copy too much to my iPod.

An old friend of mine offered backup copies of music I'd had on the player I sold him a while back. Pretty awesome, I must say (and thanks, too!).

So that's that, for now.

It's really not that bad, I just managed to hose it with a few clicks and updates I shouldn't have made.

What kind of MP3 player do you have?

Cool. From your previous comment, I take it you've been pleased with it.

very much so. the only qualm i have about it is that the battery NEVER lasted 10 hours like they said it would. i don't think i could get more than 5 or 6 hours out of it before having to recharge it.

plus it's "cute". everyone tells me how "cute" my mp3 player is.

Whoa. No one ever tells me my MP3 player is cute.

Then again, I don't have much interaction with real people in the real world too often, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
