Restocking, big storm, following a list
So, Rachel and I decided to go out somewhere for a quick bite, stop by Home Depot and then head to Wal-Mart to restock on some things.

Home Depot was uneventful, I mean what's to get excited about buying four bags of mulch, and some Round Up? While we were in Wal-Mart, it started to rain. Really, I didn't think anything of it, since we've been getting rain every evening at about five or six. What was odd was the overhead announcement for "all associates to have their flashlights handy." As soon as she finished her sentence, KRAKA BOOM and the entire store went pitch black. I had been with Jonothan in Electronics, and Rachel was elsewhere with Abby. After a few moments, the emergency lights powered on, and we found each other.

Employees began herding customers toward the front of the store, and people queued up to check out. We weren't really done, so we waited for a few minutes before giving up and checking out. We split up again and I went with Abby to go get the van. People just hovered around the exit, not wanting to leave and get wet. We eventually made our way out, and I tried to make it fun for Abby, so I revved up and we headed out. We were about halfway to the van when another huge thunderclap roared overhead, and Abby started screaming about the "big 'torm" and that she wanted her mommy. Poor girl. After she settled down, we drove to pick up Rachel and Jonothan.

About halfway home, Rachel realized we spent $40 and got nothing on our list. Sheesh.
